This Big Sur engagement session snuck in there during all of those storms we were having earlier this Spring. These two spend a lot of time outdoors hiking and enjoying so it was no surprise that they wanted to meet up in the rocky cliffs of Big Sur. We’re always in to making our way down the Coast for these views. It’s a special place in our hearts (where we got married and also had a lot of date adventures when we first met back in 2009). If you haven’t been to Big Sur you have to go. It’s got an energy unlike anywhere else. The wind and the weather of this day just seemed like a black and white grainy photo kind of day. So we went with it. Hope you enjoy.
The sun is shining and it has us thinking back to this pretty wedding at the Elizabeth Gamble Garden. What a gem of a venue nestled into the heart of Silicon Valley. These two did an amazing job re-planning there wedding after a wildfire came too close to their original wedding site deep in the Santa Cruz mountains just a couple of days before their wedding date. They switched up the plan and had this beautiful day planned in little more than 24 hours. Not stressful at all right? But they pulled it off with grace and flawlessly and we were so happy to be there to document it. Enjoy the pics and happy weekending to you all.
This golden gate bridge engagement session has me looking forward to heading up to San Francisco today. The city is full of awesome nooks and crannies and some of our favorite restaurants, neighborhoods and beaches. These two love those bridge views so meeting up at Cavallo Point to get some perspective. Meeting up to take some photos before your wedding day can be a great way to get used to being in front of the camera. Most of our clients have never been photographed before (let alone for an entire day like the wedding day will be). A little adventure with the camera really is the best way to get some practice time in for portraits come wedding day. Not to mention it’s a really great way to get a rad set of shots of the two of you more as your everyday selves. Documenting this time in your lives is key- it’s exciting a serotonin overload and some of the best moments you’ll share.
We kicked off our wedding season with this San Francisco Presidio Wedding. These two flew in from Sydney Australia to be married in the in the city where their relationship really bloomed. With an international relationship spanning London, Sydney and SF these two had many guests from all over the world and San Francisco was really shining for their celebration. An evening trip to the Golden Gate Bridge following their ceremony brought that classic San Francisco Fog and guests stayed cozy in The Presidio’s Log Cabin. We were happy to share in their amazing celebration and as we enter our 8 year of documenting weddings feel so grateful to be able to document the epic moments of family, togetherness and community that occur on wedding days. Feeling blessed for sure for the work that we do and we will really try to share more of the amazing love stories that we document on our little blog. Thanks for reading along!
Pescadero has become a favorite for engagement sessions. The rocky cliffs have a wild feel to them and the beaches are usually empty, beautiful and full of new hidden coves we’ve never explored before. Wedding season is here and we have been busy, busy meeting up with some really amazing folks up and down the coast for some rad engagement sessions over the past few months. Per usual the blog is behind but we’re back posting and will be catching it up here and there. The weather this Spring has been all over the place which isn’t always a bad thing for photography! Sunshine, rain, cloudy, foggy days- they all have their own amazing light and it’s all that different light that makes things interesting. Unfortunately these two had to reschedule three times due to those heavy rainstorms earlier this Spring. We managed to meet up during a sunny break and roamed the dunes and beaches South of San Francisco. They brought along their pup who was maybe the most well behaved dog we’ve seen. Anyways, enough of my rambling over here- please enjoy the break in the storms that was M+Q’s session and look for more posts coming up soon!
