Golden Gate Bridge Engagement Session

This golden gate bridge engagement session has me looking forward to heading up to San Francisco today. The city is full of awesome nooks and crannies and some of our favorite restaurants, neighborhoods and beaches. These two love those bridge views so meeting up at Cavallo Point to get some perspective. Meeting up to take some photos before your wedding day can be a great way to get used to being in front of the camera. Most of our clients have never been photographed before (let alone for an entire day like the wedding day will be). A little adventure with the camera really is the best way to get some practice time in for portraits come wedding day. Not to mention it’s a really great way to get a rad set of shots of the two of you more as your everyday selves. Documenting this time in your lives is key- it’s exciting a serotonin overload and some of the best moments you’ll share.

San Francisco Presidio Wedding

We kicked off our wedding season with this San Francisco Presidio Wedding. These two flew in from Sydney Australia to be married in the in the city where their relationship really bloomed. With an international relationship spanning London, Sydney and SF these two had many guests from all over the world and San Francisco was really shining for their celebration. An evening trip to the Golden Gate Bridge following their ceremony brought that classic San Francisco Fog and guests stayed cozy in The Presidio’s Log Cabin. We were happy to share in their amazing celebration and as we enter our 8 year of documenting weddings feel so grateful to be able to document  the epic moments of family, togetherness and community that occur on wedding days. Feeling blessed for sure for the work that we do and we will really try to share more of the amazing love stories that we document on our little blog. Thanks for reading along!

Pescadero Engagement Session

Pescadero has become a favorite for engagement sessions. The rocky cliffs have a wild feel to them and the beaches are usually empty, beautiful and full of new hidden coves we’ve never explored before. Wedding season is here and we have been busy, busy meeting up with some really amazing folks up and down the coast for some rad engagement sessions over the past few months. Per usual the blog is behind but we’re back posting and will be catching it up here and there. The weather this Spring has been all over the place which isn’t always a bad thing for photography! Sunshine, rain, cloudy, foggy days- they all have their own amazing light and it’s all that different light that makes things interesting. Unfortunately these two had to reschedule three times due to those heavy rainstorms earlier this Spring. We managed to meet up during a sunny break and roamed the dunes and beaches South of San Francisco. They brought along their pup who was maybe the most well behaved dog we’ve seen. Anyways, enough of my rambling over here- please enjoy the break in the storms that was M+Q’s session and look for more posts coming up soon!

Santa Lucia Preserve Wedding | Carmel, CA

Carmel is a pretty magic place. White sand beaches mere miles away from redwood groves with classic California Oak Trees sprinkled in between.  Elizabeth and Jeremy had an incredible celebration at the spectacular Santa Lucia Preserve nestled deep in the hills of Carmel Valley.  These two were some of the sweetest people and they crushed the day with epic vows, a plethora of musicians taking to the stage, and solid late night snacks. Their dreamy redwood ceremony had everyone in tears and we have to admit- it was one emotional day. The sun shone bright for these two and we are so happy to finally share this wedding with you. Catching the blog up is an ongoing project- but we are on our way with more to come soon from this past wedding season (so much goodness to share!). We were able to collaborate with some great vendors on this particular day- Colette Cuccia Weddings, Burst + Bloom Flowers and of course The Santa Lucia Preserve. Thanks for checking in with us and we hope you enjoy this amazing celebration!

Sand Rock Farm Wedding | Sun + Life Photography

Okay, okay it’s been months since we blogged but today we are sharing a really special day. This beautiful Sand Rock Farm wedding was one for the books. C + D had so much of their personality incorporated through the day and we have to admit that the cellar at Sand Rock Farm is one of our favorite ceremony sites. Something about the ivy + cement is so moody. We got to work with some of our favorites on this one- The Booth Bus, E Events Co. and Chelsey Cueva.

We have been hunkering down here enjoying the Fall weather and getting ready to finish up our wedding season with one more wedding here in Santa Cruz. It’s been a busy, amazing season and as always we are feeling so blessed to be able to do what we do. Our couples are our friends and we are so glad that we were able to share in so much happiness this past season! Enjoy this lovely day and thanks for checking in!
